The largest planet in the Solar System Jupiter will be closest to Earth on Monday night.

When NASA anticipates some of the best views of Jupiter in the past 60 years.

Jupiter will be on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun when it reaches opposition every 13 months.

According to NASA, Jupiter appears brighter and bigger during opposition than at any other time of the year.

What makes the scene so special is that Jupiter will reach that point on Monday

And will also be at its closest distance to Earth since 1963.

Jupiter will be roughly the same distance from Earth as it was in 1963—367 million miles.

Jupiter is roughly 600 million miles from Earth at its furthest point.
